Ashley Roberts: Interview

Ashley Roberts: Interview

Ashley Roberts, the former Pussycat Doll was in high spirits on Wednesday as she launched her debut fragrance  – Ashley by Ashley Roberts.  It’s actually a really nice perfume.  Ashley explained that she wanted to create a fragrance that could carry the wearer from day to night.  She said, “Spring and summer is coming – the sunshine is out.  [The fragrance] is fresh but it also has a little bit of an edge to it  – it has amber and patchouli which gives it that balance.”

I managed to grab a few minutes with Ashley to get her Fashion Five…

If you could be any designer’s muse whose would you be and why?

Well first choice would be [Alexander] McQueen.  I know unfortunately he’s passed but he always created such artistic pieces that were just…it’s art.  And then, Balmain.  I just drool over him.  If I really had to choose those would be my top two at the moment.

Which trend would you like to see banned and why?

Tube dresses (laughs).  I feel like if you want to go knee-length then you can maybe show off a little bit on top.  If you’re showing a little bit on the top..tube dresses are just so short and shrunken…I just don’t know – it doesn’t feel right to me.

Which fashion item(s) do you never leave home without?

Even though I don’t have it on me now in my bag I always have a pop of colour lipstick.  A bright red or a bright orange or something.  Because if I don’t have anything going on I throw it on and it creates a look.

If you could style steal any celeb’s look whose would it be?

Nicole Ritchie.  I just think she has fun with it.  [Her style] is feminine and edgy and she’s open minded to different things.

Which fashion tip can you share with the readers?

Have fun and don’t take yourself too seriously.  Be yourself – if you want to wear something wear it!

Ashley by Ashley Roberts (100ml) is available now from the Perfume Shop, keyfashion.co.uk, very.co.uk and Argos for £21.99.
