Pale pink is no longer perceived to be the masculine ‘go to’ colour for young boys that it once was. During the 1930s and ‘40s it evolved to become the preferred choice for little girls instead and soon a whole new generation of pinks was born. In 1931, Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli created ‘shocking pink’ by mixing magenta with a little white and it soon became her signature colour.

 

In colour psychology, pink signifies hope. It is warm, fun, positive and comforting. Fashion’s love affair with the colour pink has been a long and wonderful one and this season is no exception. Pink was one of the key trends in the SS17 shows and it continued to shine through February’s AW17 Fashion Weeks.  In short, there has never been a better time to be tickled pink…
