Overview

  • Pros:

    Highly pigmented
    Intense shine
Easy to remove using acetone free remover
Does not leave stains on nails
    A 5-FREE formula

  • Cons:

    Non-durable
    Extremely chip sensitive
    Overpriced

  • Conclusion:

Although delivering on high pigment and gorgeous shine this manicure simply does not have long staying power. Best left on the shelf for me.

They say

Leighton Denny Expert Nails brings the expert to you, developing products that are some of the most innovative on the market in providing skin care for nails.
Every colour is personally handpicked, creatively developed & lovingly named before it joins our colour kaleidoscope. We use the same award winning formula that we launched in 2005 which is high gloss, chip resistant and self-levelling. All these beautiful colours are all formulated without Tosylamide Formaldehyde resin, Camphor, DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde.

We say

I love nail polish! Since abandoning my beloved falsies some time ago I have instead adopted a nail pamper routine and often paint my nails at least once a week. I am a simple girl.  I look for beautiful colours with long staying power so I was excited to come across this brand as I had never heard of it before. It had never graced the shelves of any nail technician I had ever visited nor the aisles of Boots.

Leighton Denny

Leighton Denny offers a high gloss and chip- resistant formula with self-levelling properties, but a massive plus for me was that the polishes are made without the use of Tosylamide Formaldehyde resin, Toluene and Formaldehyde. Great nail polish without toxins? Sounded like a win win to me!

So, onto the colours I had three to try Dress To Impress a vibrant violet hue, All About Me a cross between bubblegum and hot pink and finally Butterfly Wings – my favourite which is a gorgous pearlescent shade which gives a sheer wash of pinks and blues.

Dress to Impress

With each polish I did a base coat, 2 coats of polish and 1 top coat and although pigmented each polish did need at least 2 coats for an even finish. First impressions colour pay off is massive, the colours are very pigmented and it delivers on high shine straight away.

Butterfly Wings

I tried Butterfly wings first and it looked lovely on but to my dismay it chipped on the first day and once there was a chip it fell and peeled away very easily and my manicure did not last 3 days.

All About Me

At first I thought it may of been the formulation to the sheer formula which had caused it to chip so easily and I persevered to try the other two solid colours, but the result was the same. Any slight knock and the game was up and my nails were not a pretty sight.
