Get The Look Beauty: Kylie Jenner at Coachella
When you hear Kylie Jenner’s name, what comes to mind? Kylie lip kits? Yeah, same here. From her early days of starring in Keeping Up with The Kardashians to launching Kylie Cosmetics, this girl has been whipping up a storm everywhere she goes. She recently attended the Pretty Little Thing X Paper Magazine party to kick off the one and only Coachella. Whilst that gold dress was to die for, we were busy fangirling over her makeup here at i the stylist. Big lashes and that “your lips but better” lip shade? We’re digging it. Here’s how to recreate Kylie’s look.
Let’s start by creating that smooth, flawless base. Start by applying a pore-blurring primer all over your face, using your fingers to massage it in. This gives your makeup extra lasting power and products apply much more smoothly.

Grab your favourite foundation brush or beauty blender and apply a layer of your regular foundation (we’d choose a dewy illuminating formula over a mattifying one for this look). Grab your concealer and apply liberally to any blemishes, spots and the under-eye area. The only instance when we would use concealer before foundation is if you have any discolourations and you use concealer primarily for colour-correcting purposes. Applying foundation first tends to minimise the amount of product you use, and helps you avoid that cakey look. Finish with a light dusting of pressed powder if you’re more prone to oily skin.

Groom those brows with a brow pencil or brow powder. You may find that you may have to combine different colours to find a true match for your brows – this is completely normal. Fill in any sparse areas with light strokes, and outline the arch gently, tapering off as you come inwards towards your nose. Set with a brow gel to get that subtle waxy shine. If you would rather combine both steps with one product, go for a brow pomade. Apply with an angled eyeliner brush and touch up with a brow brush.

Kylie’s decided to go for a very natural eye look here – let’s be honest, her hair is busy stealing the limelight after all. Prime your lids with a concealer or eyelid primer – this is particularly important if your lids tend to get greasy as the day goes on. Using an eyeshadow brush, apply a matte medium brown/taupe colour all over the lid, focusing it into the crease using a windshield wiper motion. If you have a darker or lighter skin tone, feel free to use a shade that compliments your natural complexion – think your skin but with a gentle bronzed shadow. Using a clean eyeshadow brush, apply a shimmery gold eyeshadow in the inner corners of your eyes.

To get that brightening effect, line the entirety of your waterline with a white eyeliner – this accentuates the whites of your eyes. Apply a light coat of mascara to your top and bottom lashes. For extra va-va-voom, finish with some falsies – individual lashes tend to be more difficult to apply but tend to look more natural. You also get the added benefit of applying them wherever you need the extra volume, rather than all the way across the lid.

Kylie’s gone for a beige lip here. It’s almost the same colour as her skin tone, but with a slight brown tinge. Keep this in mind when choosing your lip colour – the brown adds warmth to your look. Beige shades are good for lighter skin tones, and deeper browns and caramels work great for olive and darker complexions. A satin finish works best for this look.
