Man Crush Monday: Alexander Ludwig

Our Man Crush Monday this week is Vancouver-born Alexander Ludwig who has been working the warrior look since 2014 as ‘Bjorn Ironside’ in the increasingly popular TV show Vikings. As the fifth series is about to air, we take a closer look at Ludwig and what makes him tick. Among TV appearances, Ludwig has also dabbled in film and has featured in The Hunger Games, Grown Ups 2 and The Seeker: The Dark is Rising to name a few and we are waiting patiently (kind-of) for a rom-com with this guy as the eye candy.

Why we love him…

Alexander Ludwig

Least likely to…ditch his heritage. With Ludwigs’ family tracing back to Belgian, Scottish, English and German ancestry, we can guarantee that Ludwig is never one to deny his roots and represents his heritage proudly!

Impress him with…dedication. At the time of filming The Seeker: The Dark is Rising, Ludwig was still attending school and trying to juggle his acting classes. In an interview, he stated “my school wasn’t used to it, and I wasn’t used to it. It was the most amazing experience but it was really hard”.

Mention…Dwayne Johnson. On set of Race to Witch Mountain, Ludwig received one of Dwayne’s personal guitars as a birthday present for his sweet sixteenth. We’ll take one of those over balloons and cake any day…

And another thing…his lucky number is 7 (same as mine) because of his birthday. Born on May 7th at 7 minutes to 7, he weighed 7 pounds and 7 ounces. Any wonder he likes the number 7?
