Man Crush Monday: Sam Worthington

Whilst the majority of the country remains in Fifty Shades of Grey mode one other film has caught our attention – Cake.  Tipped as a worthy contender for this month’s Oscars it stars our Man Crush Monday – Sam Worthington.  Born in Surrey, UK and raised in Australia Worthington enjoyed national success in Australia until 2009 when he starred as Jake Gully in James Cameron’s Avatar.  Leading roles followed in Terminator Salvation, Clash of the Titans, Last Night and Man on a Ledge…

Least likely to…end up on Big Brother.  With regards to fame he says, “I didn’t set out to be famous; if I’d wanted that, I would have gone on Big Brother.”

Impress him with…anonymity.  Despite being previously active on social media the actor did a 180 and closed down his Instagram account last year in a bid to maintain some privacy within his private life.

Mention…James Bond. Worthington was a finalist to play Bond in Casino Royale (2006). the role, of course, was eventually won by Daniel Craig

And another thing…The Avatar star apparently had no intentions of becoming an actor. In an interview he revealed that his motivation for attending the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) was to give moral support to a friend. He got admitted but his friend didn’t – #awkward.
