London-born Tom Hiddleston graduated from Royal Academy Dramatic Arts (RADA) in 2005 and eventually landed his breakout role in 2011 playing Loki in Thor. 6’2″ Hiddleston reprised the role the following year in Avengers and can currently be seen on the big screen in British sci-fi thriller High Rise opposite Jeremy Irons and Sienna Miller. Our Man Crush Monday is also the star of the BBC One six-part adaptation of John le Carré’s novel The Night Manager, which concludes this coming Sunday…
Least likely to…keep quiet. He says, “…Never stop dreaming. And don’t be afraid of wearing your heart on your sleeve – in declaring the films that you love, the films that you want to make, the life that you’ve had, and the lives you can help reflect in cinema. For myself, for a long time… maybe I felt inauthentic or something, I felt like my voice wasn’t worth hearing, and I think everyone’s voice is worth hearing. So if you’ve got something to say, say it from the rooftops.”
Impress him with…rugby. Hiddleston was an avid player whilst at university but gave it up because of his love of acting…
Mention…languages. He can speak six – French, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Latin and of course English.
And another thing…Hiddleston actually screen tested for the role of Thor and apparently gained 20lbs in muscle but director Kenneth Branagh felt he would be a more authentic Loki.
