Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Heel Repair has been specially formulated to soften & smooth dry, cracked heels and callused feet. Contains pure Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Peppermint Oil.
Palmer’s know how to tackle dry skin. Cocoa extract is a wonderful ingredient for body products. The cocoa bean is rich in collagen boosting plant peptides that stimulate the circulation, restore elasticity, fight inflammation as well as the ubiquitous smooth/firm/hydrate trio.
Peppermint oil is anti-bacterial which is why you find it in products for feet where bacteria can quickly run riot given their druthers. AND, it is anti-inflammatory -another good check for foot lotions and potions as everyone’s feet swell during the day no matter their age or circumstance. Peppermint oil can also brighten the skin while toning.
Here’s a great tip: If you have a fungal toe nail infection swipe a bit of peppermint oil on the nail(s) where it will get to work fighting the bacteria.
Vitamin E protects the skin, moisturises it, acts as an anti-inflammatory and helps heal wounds of all sizes. Shea butter is a natural sun protector with an SPF of 6. It provides the skin with the essential fatty acids and nutrients to build collagen. What do we want? Collagen. When do we want it? Now!! Again, these ingredients build on the layering of the moisturising anti-inflammatory and smoothing properties of the other ingredients.
So, as you can see this is a solidly researched and tested product that has been around for simply ages. Putting it in a solid stick is a great idea and brings a more modern approach to application. I soon got the hang of not pushing too hard and applied with ease after a few gos. The stick had a nice texture and subtle scent of peppermint.
Palmer’s also do a Foot Magic Cream (£3.99 60g) that has the same ingredients bar one and that is mango butter. Mango butter is extracted from the kernels of the mango tree. It has fatty acids that have an enhanced level of antioxidants and vitamins compared to shea butter. It is brilliant for dry skin, eczema, dermatitis, sunburn and insect bites. Again, it is an anti-inflammatory.
This product smells of intense peppermint which is very refreshing. The texture was not greasy and was quickly absorbed into my hands and feet after application. You get considerably more product here but it is still small enough to pass airport security. Keeping your feet smooth and soft takes work and is not a quick fix. Your body lotion is on the whole not intense enough to do this job. I liked both products very much but leaned towards the Foot Magic Cream for my personal tastes and needs.
Simple and no frills. Slightly old fashioned looking but it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Very! Each day is a battle to keep our feet moisturised and this did the job with regular application. Probably best to add this into your daily routine from now on.
Value for money
You are paying for the stick applicator and if this suits you then it is good value. You get more for your money with their other products but if it’s convenience you are after then this is the one.
