When I got invited to the Paul & Joe beauty bloggers workshop in swanky Knightsbridge I thought I wouldn’t learn much. As a loyal MAC user, I’d always somehow considered Paul & Joe to be one of those girly brands with pretty packaging and make up that doesn’t actually do what you want it to do.
However, of course, I was proven wrong. And who better to prove me wrong than international make up artist Craig-Ryan French. Craig-Ryan’s passion is film make up which instantly grabbed my attention, as he illustrated how he uses Paul & Joe in all of the films he worked on.
The make up is top of the range; My favourite item was the eyebrow pencil duo, which has two shades to outline and create shadows in the brow for high definition brows that don’t look fake.
I’m obsessed with a good brow so I was all ears as Craig-Ryan explained how highlighting under the brow adds 10 years to your age – YEP, 10 years! He said: “With age comes depth and dimension so do not create it where it is not yet needed!”
The whole event was intended to launch Paul & Joe’s new “Ice cream cool” SS14 collection, which is a bit girly for me but I’m a fan of the ‘Chocolate Mint Gelato’ eye shadow – which combines mint green, dark brown and cream into one swirly shadow. You may think that that sounds gross but the combination of those three colours together creates a lovely golden brown perfect for the summery evenings.
