It’s been 15 years in the making and finally the follow-up to the Ben Stiller’s spoof of the fashion and modelling industry Zoolander is about to hit our screens. Last night Zoolander 2 had it’s London premiere and stars of film, TV and the modelling industry hit the blue carpet. The film will be on general release in the UK from next Friday (12 February 2016) so we thought it fitting to do a Red Carpet Roundup special on the premiere. So who were the casualties from last night? Here are our thoughts…
Here’s one example of when you can go wrong with a little black dress. The bow needs to go. Had this been a floor length gown the massive gold bow wouldn’t have been so bad but it’s just not flattering on a strapless mini dress. Ypu can’t see her waist and that’s one of the assets you want to show off when you’re rocking an LBD…oh, and a bit of neckwear wouldn’t have gone amiss…
Dunn is one of the most in demand models at the moment and it’s not hard to see why. The baby blue strappless dress fits her perfectly and compliments her skin tone to a tee. This look is classy and commands attention rather than demading it. Love the hair, love the makeup and love dress. Go Dunn.
Two words – try hard. If you’re going to go for the PVC look you need to commit to it. This look would have been 10 times better if she worn a black PVC halterneck top. The fabrics don’t match and it makes the outfit look cheap. PVC is not for everyone…
I’m an advocate of, ‘If you’ve got it flaunt it’ but if you’re gonna flaunt it you need to own it. There is no doubt that Mackintosh has a great body but it’s clear that she’s not comfortable in this dress. She’s certainly not the least dressed when it comes to red carpet gowns but her lack of confidence makes this outfit look lacklustre. Either cover up or own it next time…
Doesn’t she scrub up well. Cruz is often quite demure when she hits the red carpet so we love that she upped the glam factor with this metallic gown. Love the slight 60s style bouffant too. Thumbs up Cruz.
The Game of Thrones star certainly isn’t afraid to flash the flesh. Although I’m a fan of this look overall my one gripe is that even though Dormer is very small up top she should have taped her dress a bit further in so that less boob was on show – giving it a deeper v and thus more sex appeal – less is always more…
