We say

The Bluebeards Revenge was new to me as I have not seen it in a high street store so far.  Their own dedicated site offer free P&P so no worries about getting your hands on some of the products.  Apart from hair they also tackle face and body and offer tools and towels and all sorts of useful essentials.  Their hair products are paraben-free and the brand encourages recycling.

Matt Clay

This is for applying to dry hair.  As with most products you need to work the clay between your fingers or palms to warm it up.  This makes it glide onto the hair more easily  – which is key.  Our tester has medium-length hair and used it to hold his hair in shape and away from the face. He was impressed with its durability.

Matt Paste

With this one a little goes a long way.  It is quite solid in the jar so grab a small amount and work it up between your palms to a nice temperature then you can fine tune it after application with your finger tips if you like the spikey look. Our tester thought it was a bit tacky feeling for his taste but it still did a sterling job.

This can add too much shine if you pile on loads so a little amount but carefully applied works best.  The ubiquitous pea-size is the amount the company suggest and our tester agreed.  He has short hair with very short sides and was pleased with the look to the top of his head!  Even if you are not after a ‘style’ this will merely tame and smooth out fly-away hairs.  So, for those men with thinning or loss of hair this is great to make what you have left look smart and groomed.  You can also go for a spiked style with this one so a good double duty choice.

The packaging on all the of The Bluebeards Revenge range is in a good atmospheric blue with a silver skull and cross bones.  They give very clear instructions so you can check out what each product does before you put your money down.  The cardboard box can go in the recycling bin and the jar could be washed and used to store all manner of things – cuff links, spare change, plectrums – your choice!

You can also join a member’s club and get free gifts and discounts and win prizes and be kept up to date with new trends and products.

Good solid and attractive.

As good as anything else out there but with nice ethics as a bonus.

Value for Money

A little goes a long way and it’s British made so overall a jolly good thing to have around.  You may as well have something fun to look at while it does a good job!
