Rapper Tinie Tempah is gearing up to release his third studio album, YOUTH, and in a bid to give his fans a new experience he is launching a pop up shop to coincide with the release. This weekend (Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th April) at New Inn Yard in Shoreditch, fans will get an insight into Tinie’s own upbringing.
He says, “I’ve created this pop-up to celebrate the release of my third album ‘YOUTH’ and to create a nostalgic atmosphere that reflects what it was like for me growing up in London. This pop-up will take you on a journey through snapshots of my life. So I’ve put everything in there from a barbershop, similar to one my Dad used to own when I was a kid, and a Nintendo 64 as I used to spend hours in my bedroom playing GoldenEye with my friends. There’s also a market place showcasing some of my favourite designers, as well as my own brand What We Wear because I used to go to the market to buy clothes! There’s also a Morley’s Chicken Shop because that was the spot in south London for me and my friends.”
As well as stocking the rapper’s What We Wear brand, the shop will also stock a range of YOUTH merchandise. Other brands expected to be available include Bacardi, Daily Paper, Marbek, Morley’s Chicken Shop, MTVUP!, No Snitching, Slidercuts and Supermalt – with more expected to be announced in due course.
YOUTH is released Friday 14th April and features collaborations with Jax Jones, David Stewart, Stefflon Don, Shift K3Y, Wizkid, Legundary Beatz, TroyBoi and Bugzy Malone. YOUTH is available for pre-order visit www.tinietempah.com for more information.
