This week we turn our attention to Jason Wu. As well as being the current artistic director of Hugo Boss womenswear, Wu has his own successful, self-titled ready-to-wear line which he launched in 2007. The Taiwan born, Canada raised and New York based fashion designer regularly dresses the likes of Diane Kruger, Lupita Nyong’o and the First Lady Michelle Obama. His designs are romantic, delicate and timeless – think old-Hollywood glamour. Here are five of some of our favourite looks from the young designer…
Easily his muse Kruger is rarely seen without a Jason Wu gown on the red carpet. The 2015 Fashion Group International Night Of Stars Gala in New York was no different and Kruger pulls off this striking romantic gothic inspired outfit with aplomb.
Nyong’o looked elegantly gorgeous in this green SS16 maxi gown which she wore to the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New York last year.
The actress opted for this custom made corset-bodice fit and flare for a beauty launch last month. The colour, material and wrap detail at the front make this look a stand out for us.
The Concussion star kept it simple for her appearance at the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences’ 7th Annual Governors Awards. The sequinned slip dress looked gorgeous against her skin-tone and the cut and discreet split exuded demure glamour!
German fashion model Anna Ewers was Wu’s “date” to the 2016 Met Gala and the main perk was that she got to wear this stunning, intricately embellished dress. This year’s theme was ‘Manus x Machina…’ which Wu interpreted with femininity and elegance.
