Top 5 Celeb Red Carpet Moments With…Marc Jacobs

‘Enfant terrible’ is a word I’m sure you’ve all heard at one time when referring to iconic characters in fashion who create their own rules. France have Jean Paul Gaultier. We the Brits had the late great Alexander McQueen and our US cousins have Marc Jacobs. The Parsons School of Design alumnus cut his teeth at Perry Ellis from which he was spectacularly fired for designing a grunge collection. Perry Ellis’ loss was the fashion world’s gain and two years later in 1994 Jacobs launched his self-titled label.  After 17 years at the helm Jacobs stepped down as Creative director of Louis Vuitton and his self-titled labels which he merged (Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs) continue to go from strength to strength.  Whilst many of the younger generation may know him simply as a badass handbag designer we remind our audience of his competence on the catwalk by reminiscing on five of our favourite celebrity red carpet looks from the designer…





How many people can pull off a  sheer dress on the red carpet and still make it look, well classy.  Rihanna is one of the very few and she pulled off this sheer embellished Marc Jacobs gown when she attended the MusiCares Person of the Year event honouring Lionel Richie early last year…

Actress Diane Kruger opted for this mirrored mini dress for the premiere of her film Sky in Berlin. Kruger allowed the dress to steal the show by keeping her hair and makeup as natural as possible.
