Despite having not released any new music since 2014, Pixie Lott has kept a fairly high profile. Currently starring as a judge on ITV’s The Voice Kids Pixie has recently been adopted by the fashion press.
As with a lot of celebrities, her fashion choices haven’t always been well received. No doubt, due to the fact that she burst onto the seen in 2009 as a teenager. And, I’m sure most of us would want to burn evidence of some of the outfits we sported back then. Despite how amazing we think we looked at the time.
Let’s face it. Growing up in the public eye is a bummer. If there’s a bad picture it’s not as simple as pressing delete. It’s on the internet…forever. As is Pixie Lott’s journey to find her true ‘look’. So, for today’s Transformation Tuesday feature, join us as we chart the singer/reality show judge’s style evolution…
Her debut single is yet to be released. So, in a bid to get her face ‘out there’ Pixie attends the Music Industry Trust Awards in 2008. Lott looks like any typical teenager her age determined to look dressed up. Therefore, we’ll let her off…
‘Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)’ has hit the #1 spot in the singles chart so the invites are flying in. Here she is at the Q Awards in 2009. It’s clear that Pixie is still dressing how she feels comfortable – hence the mini dress with black tights. The floral adornments in her hair are another feature that remind you that she is still in her teens.
A year later and it’s a totally different vibe at the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards. Sexy secretary anyone? A little bit tried hard – but no doubt an obvious bid to shed her ‘young girl’ image and look more ‘grown up’.
We love the ’60s vibe of the look – although she could have held back on the heavy eyeliner a little. Pixie held back from going for the obvious sexy look for Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball. What we’re seeing from 2011 onwards is her experimentation with different styles. Not only with fashion, but with her hair and makeup too.
We’re back at the Q Awards again and this time Pixie is going for a more edgy look. More rock chick less rockabilly. The look is really simple and it’s clear that there is less desire to please. Pixie is coming into her own…
Can we give her a round of applause please? Absolutely love this look! It’s classy and sexy, all in one. And, totally appropriate for the Brit Awards’ red carpet. From the hair, to the barely there makeup and colour coordinated accessories – we’re giving her a fat 10. More of this please Pixie!
Another perfect (and event appropriate) look. Pixie opted for a fitted, one-shoulder mini dress from Versace for the GQ Man of the Year Awards in 2015. She’s learnt what works for her and isn’t afraid to let her dress take centre stage by paring down her hair and makeup.
Pixie’s look from this year’s Brit Awards received mixed reviews. I, for one am a fan of this Julien Macdonald dress from their AW15 collection. Lighter makeup (as in no smokey eye) and her hair up in a messy bun would have softened this look which is why I think this look got so many bad reviews. With that said Pixie Lott’s style has come on in leaps and bund and we’re starting to see the style choices of a young, confident woman who clearly enjoy fashion. Well, as the fiance to a male model (Oliver Cheshire) it’s in her best interest to embrace the industry.
