Transformation Tuesday: Solange

Solange Knowles has arguably had one of the biggest transformations in fashion. The world has watched as the youngest Knowles sister grew from teen Destiny’s Child backup dancer to natural haired style goddess. The songwriter/DJ/singer/model/designer seems to have an endless stream of creative talent. In 2015 she  launched her third collection with Puma whilst last year she became the face of Michael Kors’ fashion line. Never a follower she has managed to cement her status as a fashion icon by always taking risks; we’ve seen her go from shaved head to Diana Ross–esque volume and from body-con to fresh off the runway silhouettes…

2001

Here we see Knowles as a typical teenager at the Teen Choie Awards. Although the miniskirt and boots scream teen nightmare the bright colours and prints ring true to Solange’s style formula.

2008

Knowles goes for a bright body-con and laid back waves flashing those never-ending pins. The purple Hervé Léger number highlights a popular look for the era.

2009

Solange displays a more mature look in this canary yellow mini, sleek hair and a colourful clutch set off the look.

2009

We see the singer take her first huge fashion risk when she shaves her hair into a chic short cut, could this be the moment a fashion icon was born ?

2013

Afro? Check! Super long legs? Check! Stunning colour combo? Check! By 2013 Solo’s style formula was in full force.

2014

A vision of glowing skin and ’70s hair Knowles shows us exactly why she’s everyone’s style muse.

2015

Here she is oozing sophistication whilst attending the Carven show during Paris Fashion Week.

2017

Looking effortless at the Grammy’s earlier this year. This is what is looks like when you don’t try too hard and just let your personal style flow through!
