Wearable Tech: ASUS ZenWatch

2015 will be significant as far as wearable tech goes.  All the biggest industry players have thrown down the gauntlet and ASUS have joined the race with their first Andriod wear smartwatch – ZenWatch.

On first glance as smartwatches go it is definitely one of the most attractive ones we’ve seen so far.  It’s immediate draw is its resemblance to a classic, luxury watch.  ASUS wanted to bring the luxury tradition of fine watchmaking to Android wear and aesthetically they have definitely achieved this.  It’s understated, stylish and at $200 – affordable, when compared to some of the others on the market.

Features include a 1.63 inch square AMOLED screen, a heart rate monitor as well as a handful of apps.  Whilst certain functionalities with the watch have received poor reviews so far all have praised the aesthetics of the watch.  The watch strap made from premium Italian leather comes in a choice of three colours and you can select from over 100 watch faces to customise your ZenWatch.  There are now a number of first-gen smartwatches to choose from and I gues you just need to weigh up what the deciding factors are for you.  If you are after the latest gadget that simply looks good and sends you your notifications then the Zenwatch will satisfy that…
