Wearable Tech: i.am PULS

Black Eyed Peas’ founder will.i.am is no stranger to the world of technology.  The tech entrepreneur unveiled his latest project the Puls back in October at Salesforce.com’s Dreamforce conference in San Francisco.  The Puls is a voice-controlled smartphone worn as a cuff.  It may look like a watch but it’s certainly not – the Puls is a standalone device which requires a data plan (O2 in the UK or AT&T in the US).

Reviews so far have been mixed and representatives from Puls have claimed that demo devices have been old units. It will certainly be interesting to see what the full working versions are like.  Features include 1GB memory, 16GB storage, AneedA (a Siri-like personal assistant) and an app called Vibe+ which analyses your voice to determine your mood. The Puls run on it’s own unique operating system and should be available in a variety of finishes – black, white, red, blue, gold, pink and embellished.

The company have closed the first phase of their ‘Make It Great’ programme which gave successful applicants the chance to be amongst the first to purchase the launch edition of the Puls for $399.00.  Visit puls.com to stay updated..
