Our Woman Crush Wednesday this week is social media favourite Ashley Graham. The American model was scouted whilst out shopping in 2000 aged 12 and leapt to fame almost eight years later as the lingerie model for popular US plus-size clothing store Lane Bryant. She has scoured covers with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Grazia, Maxim, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Elle Quebec. The confident body activist regularly uses her social media platforms to encourage women to embrace their body no matter their size…
Least likely to…sugar-coat facts. In a Refinery 29 interview she told prospective wannabe models, “If you [want to model] because it’s glamorous, for the fame or it will make me feel better about myself; do not do it. It isn’t glamorous, it won’t make you feel better about yourself and fame only comes by chance.”
