Woman Crush Wednesday: Diandra Forrest

Woman Crush Wednesday: Diandra Forrest

If you haven’t heard Diandra’s name, you have to check her out! Diandra Forrest is the first albino model to front a beauty campaign. The beautiful model became the face of Wet n Wild’s Breaking Beauty Campaign. The African-American model suffered a lot of criticism and rejection as a child but she didn’t give up. She was also the first model with albinism to get signed with a major modelling agency.

Her distinct features have led to her walking the catwalk for countless fashion shows. The model is also a mother and she is setting a powerful example for her daughter Rain. Diandra is becoming the voice of many and she is redefining beauty standards in the fashion industry. We cannot help but notice her effort to make the fashion industry more diverse and inclusive so this week our Woman Crush Wednesday is Diandra Forrest!

Why we love her

Diandra Forrest

Least likely to…shy away from criticism. The model carried her daughter on the runway and received backlash from critics who assumed that she was breastfeeding on stage. The model revealed that she wasn’t breastfeeding but was making a stand in defence of mothers and women about the taboo subject of breastfeeding in public. She explained, “It’s something we should be proud of and women should do more if they can.”

Diandra Forrest

Impress her with…acting. The model is passionate about the world of acting and wants to enter it someday.

Mention…less is more. Diandra believes this philosophy is the best advice she has got when she was young.

And another thing…the model has four siblings and her younger brother was also born with albinism.
